Comment

The Slender Gold script was the personal calligraphy style of the Emperor.

In 1107, it was said that the enemy was melting iron cash coins and turning them into weapons. In response, some iron coins were made with high contents of tin.

Interesting fact

The Daguan Tongbao coin, which was issued during the Northern Song Dynasty (960-1127 AD), was the first coin in China to feature a square hole in the center. This unique design was meant to make it easier for people to string the coins together, as well as to distinguish them from other coins in circulation. The square hole also gave the coin a distinctive look that made it easily recognizable, which helped to prevent counterfeiting.
