The mintage for the year 1954 is only the scheduled number. Actually a far lower mintage was struck and entered the circulation. Official Romanian numismatic sources therefore conclude that the 1954 3 bani is one of the rarest among the communist era issues.

Interesting fact

The 3 Bani coin from Romania was designed by the artist Ioan C. Botescu and features a depiction of a peasant woman holding a sheaf of grain on the obverse side, while the reverse side features the Romanian coat of arms and the year of minting.
