Interesting fact
The Æ27 coin from Sexi (Punic Iberia) features a unique blend of Phoenician and indigenous Iberian influences in its design. The obverse (front) side of the coin depicts a stylized image of a dolphin, which was a common motif in Phoenician art and symbolized the sea-faring prowess of the Phoenicians. The reverse (back) side of the coin, on the other hand, features an image of a warrior wearing a helmet and carrying a shield, which is thought to represent the indigenous Iberian people who inhabited the region. This blending of cultural influences reflects the complex history of the region and the cultural exchange that took place between the Phoenicians and the Iberians.
