The letters CAE on the reverse are generally misinterpreted as being the abbreviation of the name of Augustus (i.e. Caesar); however, these letters simply refer to the issuer's name as supported by the separation of the letters by punctuation.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an image of Tiberius, who was the second Roman Emperor, on one side, and the inscription "AETERNITATI AVGVSTAE" which means "to the eternity of the Augusti" on the other side, indicating the coin's minting during his reign.
