Interesting fact

The Pattern 2.50 Escudos coin was designed by the Portuguese artist and sculptor, Lourenço Gomes. He was known for his work in creating sculptures and monuments throughout Portugal, and his design for the Pattern 2.50 Escudos coin features a portrait of the Portuguese poet, Luís de Camões, on the obverse side. Camões is considered one of the greatest poets of the Portuguese language, and his works are still widely read and studied today. The reverse side of the coin features the coat of arms of Portugal, surrounded by a wreath of olive branches. This coin is a unique piece of Portuguese history and culture, and it's a great addition to any coin collection.
