Interesting fact
The mascots featured on the coin, named Snow Leopard and Ray of Light, were designed by a 16-year-old student named Alexandra Dementieva. She won a nationwide contest held by the Bank of Russia to create the mascots for the Winter Paralympics, and her designs were later used on various merchandise and souvenirs, including this commemorative coin.
