Interesting fact

The Pattern 25 Qirsh coin was designed by the renowned sculptor and engraver, Paul Vincze, who was known for his work on various coins and medals for different countries. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of President Hafez al-Assad, while the reverse depicts the Umayyad Mosque in Damascus, which is one of the largest and oldest mosques in the world. The coin was minted in 1968 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Syrian Arab Republic.
