Comment

The eighth design in the Chinese Lunar Year - Shēngxiào Collection, there were several different strikes for the Year of the Ox with varying compositions and denominations which all share Harry Brockway's design.

The proof strike has plain fields while the bullion issues have a guilloche background design on the obverse alongside an additional legend with the weight and fineness on the reverse. Issue limit: 398.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the coin is that it features a unique design that combines traditional Chinese elements with British numismatic traditions. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, while the reverse depicts a majestic ox, symbolizing strength and resilience, surrounded by intricate Chinese-style floral patterns. This blend of cultures creates a truly distinctive and eye-catching design that sets the coin apart from other coins in the Royal Mint's collection.
