Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the coin is that it features a unique reverse design by artist David Rowlands, which depicts a portrait of King Charles III in a modern, stylized manner, surrounded by the inscription "D-Day 75th Anniversary" and the dates "1944-2024." This design was specifically created to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day, which took place on June 6, 1944, during World War II. The coin's obverse features the traditional effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, also designed by David Rowlands.
