Natural wondersThe XI Ibero-American Series of Commemorative Coins, whose motto is "Natural Wonders", is the result of a collective project that began in 1992 and our country has always participated. This time the issue will be only for the international market and the countries involved are Argentina, Cuba, Ecuador, Spain, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, and Portugal.
The design of this piece, realized in the Management of Strategic Planning of Treasure of this Institution, refers to the calcareous formation Serranías del Hornocal, located in Quebrada de Humahuaca in the province of Jujuy, constituted by different types of minerals that when being eroded Created a symphony of nuances on the slopes of the mountains. From the Hornocal Viewpoint, at 4300 meters above sea level, you can appreciate its triangular veins and its polychrome palette that some claim to reach thirty-three shades, making it one of the most dazzling landscapes in the Argentine territory.
