Comment

Despite being produced in their millions and being available at face value from most post offices and banks, the ordinary business strike was a Royal Mint commemorative issue and not intended for general circulation. The coin was also issued in an individual pack struck to the same quality, known as circulating standard, and was also released as part of a 12-coin set from The Royal Mint called Royal Wedding Crowns. The coin was also struck in silver proof.
