Notice that there is no reference to the King's ruling "by the grace of God" (DEI GRATIA). This omission resulted in a public outcry and the Mint modified the coinage tools to create the legend "DEI GRA:" in later issues.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1911 Canadian Silver 25 Cents coin is that it was minted without the Latin phrase "DEI GRATIA" (meaning "By the grace of God") on the obverse side, which was a departure from the traditional design used on previous coins featuring King George V. This change was made to reflect the growing trend of secularism in Canada at the time.
