Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 1965-1966 Canadian Silver 25-Cent Coin is that it was the first coin to feature the new portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which was introduced to commemorate her 10th anniversary as monarch. The coin's designer, Arnold Machin, created a more mature and regal image of the Queen, which was a departure from the previous portrait that had been used since her accession to the throne in 1952. This new portrait became the standard for all Canadian coins featuring the Queen and was used until her death in 2022.
