Changes in the coat of arms happened in 1996. These changes brought to two types of the obverse:
KM#49.1 - 6 torsos over the helmet
KM#49.2 - 5 torsos over the helmet, the new style of the palm-tree.

Although it is not listed in SCWC or other online catalogs, the existence of the 1997 non-magnetic coin (KM # 49.2) has been reported. For the same year and magnetic coin, see KM # 49a.
