Comment
This coin was minted with different collars resulting with both sharp and rounded edge. It is not clear if there is any statistical prevalence of certain type - a lot show in the picture had them split about evenly and even prevalence of the rounded edge, while another recent lot had a relationship of 19 sharp edge to 1 rounded edge coins. Further analysis is required.Interesting fact
The 25 cents coin from Zimbabwe (then known as Rhodesia) was issued during a time of great economic and political change in the country. In 1975, the country was facing a civil war, and the government was forced to introduce a new currency to replace the Rhodesian dollar, which had become devalued due to inflation. The 25 cents coin was part of this new currency system, and it was designed to be more durable and practical for everyday use than the previous coinage. Despite the challenges faced by the country at the time, the 25 cents coin remains a popular collector's item today, with many numismatists seeking it out for its historical significance and unique design.
