Comment

The Martí Centenary series (1c, 25c, 50c. and 1$ originally was designed sharing same obverse (this one), but when the trials were ready, was considered boring all being the same generics, so decided to change obverse, showing details of National Symbols. In this coin, the Frigian cap, with a 5-pointed star is shown on the upper part of the coat of arms. See the other coins for the rest of details.

Interesting fact

The 1953 José Martí 25 Centavos coin from Cuba features a unique design, with the portrait of José Martí on the obverse (front) side and the Cuban coat of arms on the reverse (back) side.
