Figure on horse has been identified variously as Sabazios (BMC), Amazon (Wa). Perhaps probably Trajanic (cf. Wa 2266?). Not a complete listing.
Magistrate of Menippos, son of Apollonios
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique blend of Greek and Roman elements. The obverse (front) side of the coin bears the image of Demos, the personification of the common people, while the reverse (back) side features a depiction of the Roman Emperor Trajan (81-117 AD). This blending of cultures reflects the complex history of the region where the coin was minted, Attuda (now in modern-day Turkey), which was a Roman province at the time but had previously been a part of the Greek world.
