Interesting fact
The Protoceratops andrewsi, which is featured on the coin, was a small, herbivorous dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, around 75-65 million years ago. It was a member of the Ceratopsian family, which includes other horned dinosaurs like the Triceratops and Styracosaurus. The Protoceratops was unique among its relatives, however, in that it had a distinctive frill on the back of its head, which was likely used for display purposes.
