Comment

In Portuguese Liberty is "Liberdade"; so, as Tasset was born in France, the word on the crown of the Liberty allegory on obverse, may be in French ("Liberté"); or in English ("Liberty"). Also maybe Tasset did not know the correct word in Portuguese and meant to engrave "Libertade").

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 1901 Brazilian 200 Réis coin is that it features a unique design that was only used for a short period of time. The coin's obverse (front) side features a portrait of a woman representing liberty, while the reverse (back) side features a depiction of a coffee plant, which was a major crop in Brazil at the time. This design was used for just a few years before being replaced by a new design, making it a distinctive and sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
