The obverse of this coin refers to the geographical position country; placed on Southern Hemisphere (from where is visible the South Cross constellation. Also shows the 4 symbols of national arms. They are present again on the reverse.The reverse represents the interpretation on the line of the Universal Constructivism (painting style created by Joaquin Torres Garcia).
Explanation of the stylized symbols:
In center is the Sun (1), surrounded by the 4 symbols of the national arms: Scale (2), Montevideo's Hill (3), Ox (4) and Horse (5).
Then, closer to the edge are placed symbols that refers to the vinculation of the Mankind to with the Cosmos (Moon - 7).
The vinculation with other cultures, European Culture: (Greek temple - 6) and American (Staggered Pyramid - 8).
The Bell (9) remind the Epifany for the coming of the new Mylenium, but not forgetting the rough times to come (Thistle Flower - 10).
