Interesting fact
The coin features a portrait of King Mihai I, who was the last king of Romania and ruled from 1940 until the abolition of the monarchy in 1947. Despite his association with the fascist Iron Guard movement, King Mihai I is remembered for his efforts to save Jews during the Holocaust, and he was recognized as a "Righteous Among the Nations" by the State of Israel in 2004.
