Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the city of Rabat, which was founded in 1195 by the Almohad Caliph Abd al-Mu'min. The coin features an image of King Hassan II on one side and the city's iconic Hassan Tower on the other. The Hassan Tower is a minaret of an unfinished mosque that was intended to be the largest in the world, but construction was abandoned after the death of Abd al-Mu'min. The tower remains unfinished to this day and is a popular tourist attraction in Rabat.
