Interesting fact

The coin commemorates the Battle of Zadwórze, which took place in 1939 during the Polish September Campaign. It was a fierce battle between Polish and German forces, and although the Polish troops were vastly outnumbered, they managed to hold off the German advance for several days. The coin's design features a depiction of the battle, with Polish soldiers fighting against a backdrop of burning buildings and smoke. The coin's obverse side features the coat of arms of Poland and the inscription "RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA" (Polish Republic).
