Interesting fact
This coin was designed by Polish artist and sculptor, Xawery Dunikowski, who was known for his work in the Socialist Realism style. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of a young woman, representing the spirit of Nowa Huta, a new town built near Krakow, Poland. The reverse of the coin depicts the coat of arms of Poland, surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves. The coin was minted as a trial strike, which means it was not intended for circulation but rather as a test run to check the quality of the dies and the striking process. As a result, only a small number of these coins were produced, making them highly sought after by collectors.
