Interesting fact

The Foka szara (Halichoerus grypus), also known as the gray seal, is a species of seal that is native to the Baltic Sea and the North Sea. It is the largest pinniped species in the Baltic Sea, with males reaching up to 2.5 meters in length and weighing up to 300 kilograms. The gray seal is protected under Polish law, and efforts are being made to conserve its population and protect its habitat. The coin , which features the gray seal, was issued in 2007 by the National Bank of Poland as part of a series of coins highlighting endangered species in Poland.
