Kanysh Imantayuli Satbayev was born in what is today Bayanaul District, in Pavlodar Region on the 11th of April 1899. He died in Moscow on the 31st of January 1964, and is buried in Almaty. He created the Institute of Geology. He is one of the founders of Soviet metallogeny, principal advocate and the first president of Kazakhstan Academy of Sciences.Interesting fact
