Comment

When adding years to coin designs the Isle of Man used one style for the digits until 1989 and another style from 1990 on (with the exception of 20 Pence coins from 1998 on). The difference is most easily noticed in the 9s and 6s in the date. This type exists with both styles.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design that showcases the Isle of Man's agricultural heritage. The reverse side of the coin depicts a combine harvester, which is a machine used for harvesting crops, and is a nod to the island's rich farming history. This design was created by sculptor and engraver, Michael Rizzello, and was used on the 20 pence coin from 1988 to 1992.
