Interesting fact
The Royal Shield design on the coin's reverse side features a unique combination of symbols that represent the four constituent countries of the United Kingdom: England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The shield is divided into four quarters, each bearing a different symbol: a rose for England, a thistle for Scotland, a daffodil for Wales, and a shamrock for Northern Ireland. This design was created by Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark and was first introduced in 2015.
