Comment
This coin pictured above has a (star?) rather than a sprig upper left of obverse, thus as KM#(137?) rather than KM#136, but KM#137 and its equivalent, USK-119.02, are both listed only for year 8 . The listing of year 7 for KM#136 is also correct, as is clear in the KM photo. This variety is probably unpublished, or at least never recorded in the principal catalogs.Could be a weak strike of the sprig
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during the reign of Mahmud II, who was the Sultan of the Ottoman Empire from 1808 to 1839. This coin was minted in the Regency of Tripoli, which was a province of the Ottoman Empire located in present-day Libya. The use of Billon, a copper and silver alloy, was a common practice in the Ottoman Empire during this time period.
