Mehmet Fuat Sezgin (October 24, 1924 - June 30, 2018) was a Turkish orientalist of Kurdish origin specializing in the history of the Arab sciences. He was professor emeritus of the history of natural sciences at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and founder and honorary director of the Institute for the History of Arabic Islamic Sciences. He has also set up museums in Frankfurt and Istanbul with replicas of Arab and Islamic scientific instruments, tools and historical maps.
