Half of ancient Viking boat, value, the mintmark of Det Norske Mynverket (the crossed pick and hammer) divides the date, director's of the mint initials.

Mintmasters' initials are featured on the coin reverse. These initials are not included on coins minted after 2007. In 2001, there was a short period when there was no acting director for the mint. A small part of this year's mintage features a star to the right of the former director's initials.Reverse
