Comment

It is not known if this coin ever existed. Allegedly, this coin was minted in 1849 by Croatian government ("Bansko vijeće") and Governor Josip Jelačić when Croatia was part of Austria-Hungary. It is claimed that the bust of Ferdinand I was on the obverse of the coin and that that was the reason why Franz Joseph I ordered that all coins had to be melted. Therefore, not a single coin is known to exist, nor the copies of this coin. Furthermore, the mold for minting this coin was never found and there are no records whatsoever about it. These are all the reasons why it is still questionable whether this coin has ever existed. In the same time, 1 Križar coin was minted for sure and a few examples of the coin are known to exist.
