Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a unique design that reflects the cultural heritage of Vanuatu. The obverse side of the coin depicts a traditional Melanesian warrior, while the reverse side features a local bird, the "Ni-Vanuatu," which is a symbol of the country's rich wildlife. This design was created by the French engraver, Pierre Gandon, and it sets the coin apart from other circulation coins of its time.
