Because of their use on the green carpet of the Casino of Monte Carlo, these coins are very rare in superb condition, especially FDC
Interesting fact
This gold coin was minted during the reign of Prince Albert I of Monaco, who ruled the principality from 1889 until his death in 1922. The coin features a portrait of Charles III, who was the ruler of Monaco from 1856 to 1889. It's worth noting that Monaco did not adopt the Euro currency until 2002, so this coin would have been part of the country's pre-Euro monetary system.
