Interesting fact
The coin's design features a portrait of Gavroche, a character from Victor Hugo's novel "Les Misérables," on the obverse (front side), and the reverse (back side) features a scene from the novel showing Gavroche's father, Jean Valjean, rescuing Marius from the barricade. The coin was minted to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Victor Hugo's birth.
