Interesting fact
The Erich Kästner 20 Euro coin was designed by German artist and illustrator, Katja Rahlves, and features an image of Kästner's famous children's book character, Emil, on the obverse (front side). The reverse (back side) of the coin shows a quote from Kästner's book, "Emil and the Detectives," in German: "Einmal ist keinmal, aber zwei mal ist immer" ("Once is never, but twice is always"). This quote reflects Kästner's sense of humor and his ability to connect with children through his writing.
