20 years ago, the Bruges centre was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Royal Dutch Mint dedicates this silver silver commemorative coin coin in proof quality to this anniversary. The motive of the coin shows a stylised image of the majestic Belfry bell tower, built in the 18th century and a hight of 83 metres. In the late Middle Ages, the tower on the central market square not only served as a fire watch, but also demonstrated the power of the rich bourgeoisie. To the left of it, the inscription "20 Years Historical Bruges" can be seen. On the reverse of the silver coin is a map of the European Union surrounded by its twelve stars.
