Comment

RPC I omitted any coins from Elatea but it is probable that this coin belongs to the second half of the first century BC according to its style and fabric.

Extremely rare, probably only a few known.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features the image of a deer on its reverse side, which was a common motif in ancient Greek coinage, particularly in the region of Achaea. The deer symbolized speed, agility, and fertility, and was often associated with the goddess Artemis, who was revered as the protector of the wilderness and the hunt. The inclusion of this image on the coin may have been intended to convey the idea of prosperity and abundance, as well as to highlight the region's rich natural resources and cultural heritage.
