Comment
Three dewdrops shine on the superb red trillium featured on this piece. The plant's name comes from the Greek word "tris", meaning "three times", to describe the flower's three petals, three sepals and three leaves. The deep, dark-red petals form a distinctive flower of breathtaking beauty and unforgettable simplicity. Trillium erectum is native to northeastern North America. Once widespread in the deciduous forests of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, it has become progressively rarer due to overharvesting and development.
In spring, each plant produces a unique flower. Picking it can be fatal to the plant, or prevent it from flowering for several years. The red trillium is a slow-growing plant that can take up to 15 years to flower, with a lifespan of up to 30 years. This remarkable piece features a crystal-embellished flower that will appeal to admirers for generations to come.
As with all the pieces in this highly prized series, this colored piece in 99.99% pure silver is enhanced by three sparkling Swarovski elements, representing dewdrops.
