Subscription to five-part series RCM/MRC#129664Lake Erie is the fourth largest of the Great Lakes in terms of total surface area, but the smallest in terms of volume. Hydrographically, it is fed by the three Great Lakes to the north, Lakes Superior, Michigan and Huron, as well as by Lake St. Clair and the St. Clair River, and flows into the Niagara River and Welland Canal. The Point Pelee Peninsula, located on the north shore of Lake Erie, is Canada's southernmost mainland.
