The reverse image features Colour Mosaic technology, a combination of engraving and paint techniques that transform a traditional wildlife portrait into mosaic art. More than 130 individually engraved, differently shaped "tiles" combine to form a side-profile view of a grizzly bear wading through a fast-moving, salmon-rich river. While engraved "grout" lines mimic the look of raised tile, different paint effects alter the intensity of each coloured segment, save for the proof shine of the rocks that have been "polished" by the fast-moving water.

SECOND IN THE SERIES! Mimics the look and feel of tile mosaic!

Along the coastal rivers of British Columbia, the annual salmon run draws a powerful predator whose appetite inadvertently makes it the steward of this ecosystem. Ursos arctos leaves no doubt about its fishing skills on the colourful reverse, where colour mosiactechnology transforms our wildlife portrait of the grizzly bear into a beautiful, collectible piece of mosaic art. We've taken aninnovative, tile-by-tile approach to creating the design on the reverse. With the exception of the polished silver rocks in the water, the 130+ individually engraved "tiles" that form the portrait each feature a striking colour application with varying degrees of translucence, while engraved "grout" lines mimics the look of raised tiles.
