Among Robert Bateman's best-known paintings are his moose-themed canvases. The coin's motif, depicting the profile of a bull moose proudly displaying its antlers, is taken from Robert Bateman's painting The Moose Family, painted to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Canadian Wildlife Federation.
