Mikasa (三笠) is a pre-dreadnought battleshipbuilt for the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) in the late 1890s. Named after Mount Mikasa in Nara, Japan, the ship served as the flagship of Admiral Tōgō Heihachirō throughout the Russo-Japanese War of 1904–1905, including the Battle of Port Arthur on the second day of the war and the Battles of the Yellow Sea and Tsushima.
Launched: 8 November 1900

Interesting fact

The Admiral Heihachiro Togo coin from Liberia features an image of the famous Japanese admiral on its obverse side, while the reverse side depicts a battleship, which is a nod to Togo's notable victory in the Russo-Japanese War.
