The Pattern 20 Dinars coin was designed by the French engraver and sculptor, Albert Decaris, who was also responsible for designing many other coins and stamps for various countries. Decaris' design for the Pattern 20 Dinars coin features a portrait of Habib Bourguiba, the first president of Tunisia, on the obverse, and a depiction of a traditional Tunisian archway on the reverse.
