Interesting fact

The 20 Colones coin from Costa Rica, minted between 1897 and 1900, is interesting because it was made of a unique alloy of 90% gold and 10% copper, which is different from the standard gold coins of that time, which were usually made of 24-karat gold (99.9% gold). This coin's unique composition was likely chosen to make it more durable and resistant to wear and tear, as gold coins tend to be softer and more prone to scratches and damage than coins made of other metals. Despite being made of a lower percentage of gold, the coin still has a significant gold content, which made it a valuable and sought-after currency in its time.
