Interesting fact

This coin was designed by the Uruguayan artist and engraver, José Luis Zorrilla de San Martín, who is known for his work on various Uruguayan coins and banknotes. The obverse of the coin features a portrait of José Artigas, a national hero of Uruguay, while the reverse depicts the coat of arms of Uruguay surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves. The coin's design was meant to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Artigas' death, and it was issued in a limited quantity of 5,000 pieces.
