Montevideo's Hill is one of the symbols of the national coat of arms, showing on the upper right quarter. Montevideo's Hill Fortress ("Fortaleza del Cerro" in Spanish) was the last Spanish fort built in Uruguay 1811.; hill is placed on left shore of Montevideo Bay, while downtown is on right side. There is a fortress on top, that dominates (and protected) all the city. Symbolizes the strength.Interesting fact
The 20 Centésimos coin from Uruguay was designed by the country's famous artist, José Belloni, who was known for his sculptures and medals. He designed the coin's obverse side, which features the image of a rural worker, symbolizing the country's agricultural industry.
