Comment
Like the model adopted for the Province of Canada, except for the date. This coin does not represent the 20 cents proposed for the Dominion of Canada. It is believed to have been struck to display the 20 cents of the Province of Canada. Only the type was important; no concern was given to use a date coresponding to the coins actually issued for circulation. (National Currency Collection).

Interesting fact
The Pattern 20 Cents - Victoria (Specimen Pattern) 1871 from Canada is a rare and unique coin, with only 30 specimens minted. It was designed by Leonard Charles Wyon, a renowned engraver and designer at the Royal Mint in London. The coin features a young Queen Victoria, with her hair in a bun and a crown on her head, surrounded by a wreath of maple leaves. The obverse side of the coin bears the inscription "VICTORIA DEI GRATIA" (Victoria, by the grace of God), while the reverse side features the denomination "20 CENTS" surrounded by a wreath of leaves. The coin's rarity and historical significance make it a highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists.
