Comment

the engraver of the reverse is unclear, but the fact that a die from a New Brunswick 20 cent was used in the George W. Wyon obituary medalet suggest that it was George that engraved it not Leonard.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 20 Cents - Victoria 1862-1864 coin from New Brunswick is that it was minted during a time when the Canadian provinces were still under British rule, and the coin features an image of Queen Victoria on one side and a crowned shield with the motto "Sic Semper Tyrannis" (Latin for "Thus Always to Tyrants") on the other. This coin was also unique in that it was made of silver, which was a departure from the more commonly used copper or nickel for Canadian coins at the time.
