This is the Silver Proof (.999) version of the standard definitive Platypus Reverse 20 cent coin used in everyday circulation in Australia. The Ian Rank-Broadley fourth effigy Obverse is the third effigy to be used on this iconic 20 cent coin.

This silver version of the 20 Cent Platypus coin was first released in the 1998 Masterpieces in Silver 9 coin set with 7 other 20 cent sized coins commemorating various florins issued between 1910 & 1954 and the 1995 United Nations 20 cent commemorative.
